劉蓉,女,三級(jí)教授,博士生導(dǎo)師,湖北省杰出青年基金獲得者,國(guó)際阿爾茨海默協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)刊《Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease》和國(guó)際神經(jīng)化學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)刊《Journal of Neurochemistry》編委,中國(guó)神經(jīng)科學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)刊《Neuroscience Bulletin》青年編委,教育部及湖北省神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)疾病重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室學(xué)術(shù)骨干,瑞典卡羅林斯卡醫(yī)學(xué)院、美國(guó)波士頓大學(xué)訪(fǎng)問(wèn)學(xué)者,國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金委(NSFC)、英國(guó)醫(yī)學(xué)研究委員會(huì)(Medical Research Council)基金評(píng)審專(zhuān)家多年從事神經(jīng)退行性疾病發(fā)病機(jī)制的研究,作為項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人獲多項(xiàng)國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金資助,參與研究項(xiàng)目獲中華醫(yī)學(xué)科技二等獎(jiǎng)和教育部高等學(xué)校科學(xué)研究?jī)?yōu)秀成果獎(jiǎng)自然科學(xué)獎(jiǎng)一等獎(jiǎng)。對(duì)阿爾茨海默病及抑郁癥相關(guān)領(lǐng)域有較深厚的理論基礎(chǔ)和實(shí)踐經(jīng)驗(yàn),以通訊作者Nature系列刊物Molecular Psychiatry Cell Death & Disease, Cell系列刊物Cell reportsiScience等高水平國(guó)際期刊發(fā)表SCI論文多篇,通訊作者論文入選ESI高被引論文、F1000Prime推薦論文,發(fā)表論文H因子為30,被引用超過(guò)3300次。學(xué)生培養(yǎng)注重因材施教,目前已指導(dǎo)多名碩士、博士研究生,六名研究生獲得研究生國(guó)家獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金,多名研究生獲區(qū)級(jí)、校級(jí)優(yōu)秀研究生稱(chēng)號(hào)。獲華中科技大學(xué)2023年度三育人獎(jiǎng)。

研究方向:

1.老年性癡呆發(fā)病機(jī)制與防治。老年性癡呆又稱(chēng)阿爾茨海默病(AD),隨全球人口老齡化發(fā)病率逐步增高,是老齡人口癡呆的最主要病因。目前AD發(fā)病機(jī)制不明,防治困難,本研究組主要聚焦于AD發(fā)病上游機(jī)制的研究,以期為其防治提供新靶點(diǎn)。近年來(lái)主要研究興趣領(lǐng)域如下:1) 環(huán)境因素如中樞神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)鋅穩(wěn)態(tài)異常、外周腸道微生物在AD發(fā)病中的作用和機(jī)制:研究組探討揭示腦內(nèi)微量元素鋅穩(wěn)態(tài)異常促進(jìn)ADtau病變的作用及其機(jī)制,發(fā)現(xiàn)干預(yù)鋅失衡可逆轉(zhuǎn)tau蛋白過(guò)度磷酸化和聚集;探討揭示外周幽門(mén)螺桿菌感染促進(jìn)腦內(nèi)AD樣病變的作用和機(jī)制。2) 蛋白磷酸酯酶2A(PP2A)的調(diào)節(jié)及其異常在神經(jīng)退變中的作用:PP2A活性抑制是AD腦內(nèi)tau蛋白過(guò)度磷酸化的關(guān)鍵促進(jìn)因素,研究組系統(tǒng)探討AD腦內(nèi)PP2A活性下調(diào)的上游機(jī)制及可能的干預(yù)措施,并通過(guò)廣泛的國(guó)際合作尋找候選治療化合物分子。

 

2. 抑郁癥發(fā)病機(jī)制與防治。隨著工業(yè)化進(jìn)展,抑郁癥(MDD)的全球發(fā)病率呈顯著增高趨勢(shì),2018年數(shù)據(jù)指出全球MDD的年發(fā)病率為6%。抑郁癥發(fā)病機(jī)制不明,治療方法有限。研究組的主要研究興趣領(lǐng)域?yàn)樯窠?jīng)可塑性異常在抑郁癥中的作用和分子機(jī)制,陸續(xù)發(fā)現(xiàn)揭示了若干調(diào)控神經(jīng)發(fā)育和可塑性的關(guān)鍵分子在抑郁癥發(fā)病中的作用;并以此為干預(yù)靶點(diǎn)探索新的抑郁癥干預(yù)治療措施。
